Chief Operating Officer (424) (Project Management)



Kings View is a nonprofit leader in providing behavioral health services to the underserved community, is currently seeking a driven Chief Operating Officer to join our mission to provide compassionate services to those with limited resources. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic oversight and operational execution of a highly diversified and rapidly expanding behavioral health organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will lead all core operational functions, ensure exceptional service delivery, and scale infrastructure to support growth across clinical, administrative, and community-based programs. This position exists to translate strategic vision into high-impact operations and ensure the long-term sustainability and quality of services provided to the community.The COO will champion a culture of innovation, equity, and continuous improvement, engaging with diverse stakeholdersincluding funders, community partners, government agencies, and the Boardto strengthen partnerships and enhance community impact. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to drive operational excellence, foster a high-performing and inclusive team, and deliver sustainable growth aligned with the organizations mission and values. The position requires regular travel to program sites and community partners to maintain strong connections and oversee operations effectively.

How I Will Contribute
Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute multi-year strategic plans.Translate vision into operational strategy and implement scalable systems that promote long-term sustainability.Serve as a key advisor to the CEO on organizational priorities, risks, and opportunities.Lead and integrate all day-to-day operational functions, including program delivery, clinical operations, compliance, facilities, IT, and administrative services.Ensure efficient, high-quality, and trauma-informed care across diverse service lines, including outpatient, crisis, school-based, and community programs.Monitor and improve KPIs related to access, utilization, productivity, client outcomes, financial performance, and staff engagement.Design and refine systems to support the companys growth trajectory and geographic expansion.Oversee implementation of process improvement initiatives and leverage technology and innovation to enhance operational efficiency.Lead operational due diligence and integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, or new service launches.Directly supervise senior operational leaders and foster a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive culture.Build talent pipelines and succession plans to support long-term growth and leadership development.Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Partner with legal, quality, and clinical leadership to proactively manage risk and maintain accreditation standards.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program.

What I Bring
Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business, or related fieldClass C Driver's License10 years of progressive operational leadership in healthcare or behavioral health settings; or comparable quantitative field or equivalent related work experience. Demonstrated success managing complex organizations with diverse program portfolios and multiple funding streams. Experience with Medi-Cal, managed care, and county mental health systems is essential.Deep understanding of nonprofit healthcare operations, compliance frameworks, and public sector partnerships. Knowledge of performance metrics, quality improvement, and regulatory reporting.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams within dynamic and highly regulated environments. Strong analytical skills to translate complex data into actionable operational strategies that drive performance and impact. Proven capability in identifying, managing, and mitigating organizational risk while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.Mission-driven, strategic, and visionary mindset with a deep commitment to advancing organizational goals. Adaptable and solution-oriented under pressure, with the ability to navigate challenges with resilience and clarity. Collaborative and inclusive leadership style that fosters trust, empowers teams, and cultivates a culture of continuous improvement.Nonprofit leadership experience and a track record of operating effectively at the executive level within large behavioral health systems. Experience guiding organizations through significant transitions such as mergers, expansions, or system redesigns.
