Journeyman Electrician - Eastern NC (Education)



Position Overview:
ALG Senior is looking for an experienced and licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our facilities team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across multiple senior living communities. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, comfortable, and fully functional environments for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Installation and Upgrades:

Install, upgrade, and maintain electrical systems including panels, lighting, switches, outlets, and power distribution equipment.

Interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and code specifications to plan layouts and determine installation procedures.

Lead or assist in facility renovation projects requiring electrical infrastructure updates or additions.

System Troubleshooting and Repair:

Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, power outages, and faulty equipment using industry-standard testing tools.

Perform emergency repairs as needed to minimize service disruptions in resident care environments.

Replace wiring and components as necessary to ensure continuous, code-compliant operation.

Preventive Maintenance and Inspection:

Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.

Ensure all systems operate efficiently and identify potential hazards or performance issues.

Document findings and recommendations, and schedule follow-up repairs or adjustments.

Compliance and Safety:

Adhere strictly to the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building regulations, and OSHA safety standards.

Maintain accurate service logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.

Promote a culture of safety across all job sites, using PPE and safety procedures consistently.

Leadership and Communication:

Serve as an on-site electrical expert, guiding junior technicians or contractors when needed.

Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and project teams to complete work orders and capital projects efficiently.

Provide clear updates and status reports to supervisors and facility staff regarding project timelines and issues.

Qualifications:

Valid Journeyman Electrician License in [State Name].

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship completion preferred.

Minimum of 45 years of experience in electrical work, including residential or commercial environments.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and tools.

Experience working in healthcare, senior living, or multi-site operations is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.

Excellent time management, troubleshooting, and interpersonal communication skills.

Must pass a background check and maintain a valid drivers license.
