Operations & Performance Analyst (Information Technology)



Role:

The Operations & Performance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Operations team through data-driven insights, strategic documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. This individual will focus on product and performance analytics, competitive research, and operational reporting to support informed decision-making and help drive the achievement of business objectives.

Location: Our headquarters are based in Syracuse, NY. We work in a Hybrid Model requiring a minimum of 5 days in office per month.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

35%       Specialized Performance Analysis:

- Conduct scheduled and ad hoc performance analyses to support operational initiatives.

- Provide data insights on vendor performance, forecasting accuracy, budget adherence, product trends, process efficiency, and line-of-business effectiveness.

20%       Operational Support & Reporting:

- Assist with day-to-day tasks such as building presentations, executing operational changes, and maintaining up-to-date policies and procedures.

- Produce regular business-as-usual (BAU) reports, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls.

20%       Product & Process Rollout:

- Coordinate and support the rollout and testing of new products, services, systems, procedures, and hardware.

- Provide hands-on support and training to Operations teams on new operational and procedural changes.

10%        Process Optimization:

- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.

- Employ tools and methodologies to optimize business processes and ensure departmental alignment.

10%        Internal Communications:

- Draft, review, and distribute internal communications that are clear, timely, and aligned with organizational messaging.

- Ensure communications are coordinated with business priorities and communication standards.

5%         Additional Duties:

- Perform other related duties or projects as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

 See Dayforce (HRIS) Performance Management for Goals upon start in role, and annually.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible experience in operations, business analysis, or a related function, ideally within a credit union, bank, or other financial services environment.

- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of driving process improvements, supporting regulatory compliance, and delivering data-backed operational insights in a dynamic, member-focused setting.

Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in Business Administration, Finance, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.

- Alternatively, formal certifications recognized in the financial industry (such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or relevant IT/business operations credentials) may be considered.

- Ongoing education in financial services operations, compliance, or analytics is a plus.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills:    

- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including experience drafting clear reports and internal communications.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), along with other tools for spreadsheets, databases, graphing, and report generation.

- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, reporting, and policy maintenance.

- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

- Ability to quickly learn and apply new systems or tools, with a continuous improvement mindset.
