WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Product Engineer on the Solutions Management team, you'll be instrumental in guiding product development and managing our solution portfolio, ensuring our offerings align with customer and market demands.

This highly technical role spans connectivity, networking, digital platforms, and unified communications. You will engineer and deliver managed service products that integrate networking technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Ericsson, Digi) with digital and voice solutions (e.g., SIP, WebRTC, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, GoTo, Twilio). Working in an Agile environment, you'll drive innovation, ensure quality, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable, scalable, and customer-focused solutions.

Major duties and responsibilities:

Solution Design & Integration:

  • Design, engineer, and implement solutions that combine hardware, software, network services, and digital communication platforms.
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate technologies such as SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA, UCaaS, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Translate business and user requirements into technical specifications, architecture, and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to align solutions with market and customer needs.

Testing & Validation:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for connectivity, digital, and voice solutions.
  • Perform load testing, security validation, and performance optimization to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Document defects, troubleshoot issues, and work with vendors and partners for resolution.
  • Ensure solutions meet all regulatory and compliance requirements.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for connectivity, digital, and voice solutions.
  • Perform load testing, security validation, and performance optimization to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Document defects, troubleshoot issues, and work with vendors and partners for resolution.
  • Ensure solutions meet all regulatory and compliance requirements.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Research, evaluate, and test emerging technologies in networking, digital communications, and managed services.
  • Participate in proof-of-concepts and pilot deployments to assess new solutions.
  • Drive improvements in performance, security, and user experience across the solution portfolio.
  • Partner with DevOps and network teams to ensure solutions are deployable, scalable, and maintain strong uptime metrics.

Agile Participation:

  • Actively lead and contribute in Agile workstreams, sprint planning, and reviews.
  • Define acceptance criteria and provide technical insights during product development cycles.
  • Serve as a technical liaison across stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, and overall experience required for the role. In addition, the ideal candidate demonstrates a strong customer-first mindset, thrives on innovation, collaborates effectively across teams, and adapts quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.  

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in software, network, or product engineering within managed services, networking technologies, telecommunications, or digital communication platforms.
  • Strong Agile experience with tools like Jira and Confluence, including sprint and backlog management.
  • Hands-on experience with QA/testing frameworks and the ability to design and execute test cases.
  • Proficiency with networking and security technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco), voice and video protocols (e.g., SIP, WebRTC), and cloud communication APIs (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, GoTo, Twilio).
  • Programming or scripting skills (Python, Java, or equivalent) with knowledge of system integration.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure supporting UCaaS (bandwidth, QoS, security).
  • Innovative, analytical, and customer-focused mindset with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities with cross-functional collaboration experience.

Preferred Certifications

  • Fortinet, Cisco, CradlePoint, Google, AWS, Azure, CISSP
  • ITIL Foundation, PMP, CAPM
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time when working on a computer.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, configuring equipment, and handling small components.
  • Frequent use of eyes to analyze data on screens, monitoring applications, and technical diagrams.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching when working in the technical lab environment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs as needed for lab setups or testing.
