What you will enjoy doing*

• In this position you will be a key member of the Electronics Gases research and development team at the Linde Technology Center (LTC) in Tonawanda, NY
• You will engage and collaborate with Linde's regional businesses, global customers, OEMs, and suppliers to develop and commercialize new materials, purification technologies, delivery systems and packaging solutions for their use in the Electronics specialty gases and advanced materials market
• You will lead New Product Development; drive projects for new product development from concept to successful commercialization
• Experimental Design & Execution; design & setup experimental apparatus, plan, run, and/or execute experiments, conduct data analysis, and create efficient presentations for communicating technical results
• Technical Expertise; become an internal technical expert in the field of relevant semiconductor materials
• You will be responsible for stakeholder alignment; ensure constructive alignment with development partners, commercial team, and customers throughout all stages of technology development
• Collaborative Innovation; actively participate in internal and external technical collaborations to identify opportunities for new products and/or development programs
• IP Development; prepare invention disclosures and contribute to the development of Linde intellectual property portfolio

What makes you great

• You must have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or related technology field, and 5+ years relevant experience; or MS and 8+ years relevant experience
• Synthetic Chemistry Expertise, experience with synthesis of inorganic, metalorganic, or small organic molecules at a lab scale
• Demonstrated success in designing chemical reactions, distillation, or gas purification. Techno-economic analysis of high-volume production
• You should have hands-on experience with handling of hazardous materials in R&D setting, including analysis of gases and liquids
• You should have the ability to work independently and to be flexible in fast-pacing R&D environment with changing priorities
• Efficient verbal and written (email, technical documentation, presentation) communication skills
• Over 8 years of experience driving new product development and commercialization of specialty gases or precursors for the semiconductor or related industries, utilizing a stage-gate process is preferred
• Gas System Design experience is preferred on custom vacuum and/or high-pressure gas system design, build, or maintenance
• Experience with modeling of chemical and physical processes in Aspen, UniSim, or other process simulation software is preferred
• Analytical Techniques - operation of GC-MS, GC-TCD, FTIR, MS, UV-Vis, or other analytical methods is preferred; method development is a plus
