Intermediate Accountant
We are adding a position to our Accounting Team! This role will work with our Crop Protection Business and Land O'Lakes Sustainability business (Truterra) and be responsible for essential accounting processes for these businesses.
This role is located at our Arden Hills, MN corporate headquarters. Hybrid work arrangement each week.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, overseeing inventory modules, preparing reports, and monthly reconciliations.
- Helping assess business contracts and researching related GAAP literature to determine proper accounting treatment
- Accounting for the Crop Protection contractual customer agreements which comprise over 50% of Winfield United's sales
- Managing and costing Truterra's carbon inventory
- Analyzing balance sheet accounts and profit and loss statements to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Collaborating with various departments to investigate and resolve issues, ensuring prompt resolution of reconciliation items
- Preparing and providing leaders with concise reports on key areas and accounts, responding to and preparing information for internal and external auditors
- Maintaining internal controls within assigned areas
- Identifying and implementing process improvements and undertaking various other duties and special projects.
Required Experience-Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Prior experience driving process improvement and documenting processes.
- Strong technical accounting and GAAP knowledge required.
- Advanced computer software experience and knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, specifically strong Excel skills.

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills when working with all levels of management and cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of analysis and procedures.
- Excellent trouble shooting, problem resolution, analysis skills, and understand primary financial drivers in the business.
Experience-Education Preferred:
- CPA
- Public accounting experience.
- Advanced experience withJDE ERP systems, Alteryx, CoPilot or other AI tools, Hyperion Smartview-Essbase, and Power BI
$69,040-$103,560. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
