Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) assists the Director of Nursing Services in managing daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality resident care and compliance with regulations. This role involves leadership, staff supervision, and direct patient care responsibilities in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative & Compliance:

  • Support the Director in overseeing nursing operations and policy compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date nursing policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and facility inspections.
  • Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Staff Supervision & Training:

  • Ensure adequate staffing of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants.
  • Provide supervision, training, and performance evaluations for nursing staff.
  • Promote a positive work environment and teamwork.

Resident Care & Safety:

  • Conduct daily resident rounds and ensure proper nursing care.
  • Oversee medication administration and treatment plans.
  • Provide direct nursing care, including IVs, specimen collection, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Maintain infection control and safety protocols.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and other departments.
  • Ensure proper documentation of resident care and medical records.
  • Address and resolve resident or family concerns as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state.
  • CPR certification (required).
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing regulations and best practices.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move intermittently and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and emergencies.
