Business Development Manager (Finance)



Job Description Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic leader to procure work and increase sales for our Raleigh division in the following target markets: Healthcare, Education and Public/Civic. To direct and perform business development, marketing and sales activities including planning and strategy for a specific market segment or region, resulting in expansion of prospects, new contracts, and start of construction. To establish and maintain effective contact with potential buyers of construction services resulting in increased project awards.

Job Description:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Able to perform all essential Business Development Representative responsibilities.
  • Implement standard Business development processes, procedures, and companywide best practices.
  • Support the hiring process, training, and development of Business Development personnel.
  • Assist with developing divisional sales goals and business development strategies aligned with regional and organizational goals, including analysis of current and future sales targets.
  • Conduct market conditions analysis, track shifts in trends, and competition activity.
  • Compile and deliver activity reports to Division/Regional leadership as requested.
  • Partner with BD teams and leaders across regions to collaborate & leverage national clients.
  • Identify business and market opportunities; leverage various bid platforms for leads.
  • Develop networks of key business contacts; partner with leadership to foster strong partnerships and relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Maintain new business files and client relationship management systems updated and accurate.
  • Partner with leaders on RFP's, RFQ's, proposal strategies, and developing interview agendas.
  • Update leaders regularly with opportunities in the pipeline to facilitate strategic preparation.
  • Participate in "capture plan" strategy meetings, pre-proposal meetings, and pink and red team reviews.
  • Partner with teams throughout the proposal process, assist with interview strategies, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Support and prepare personnel to deliver effective presentations and speaking engagements.
  • Work with potential clients to understand the needs and objectives of their project(s) and relay information to Operations teams to ensure they are addressed in project responses.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by serving as a resource throughout the entire project delivery process.
  • Assist in facilitating a successful project close out to encourage ongoing partnership.
  • Develop BD/Marketing collateral including communications material.
  • Develop brand and social media strategies; drive divisional campaigns that enhance brand visibility.
  • Partner with Marketing to leverage internal/external public relations opportunities for social media.
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of company events including public relations, community relations, and other internal/external events or initiatives.
  • Attend, represent, and actively participate in industry related events.
  • Organize special marketing events, manage photography coordination, promotional efforts, and identify marketing opportunities to include appropriate leadership representation.
  • Partner with marketing teams to execute target campaigns and initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Lead business development meetings and create agendas that facilitate productive collaboration.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (a plus)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in marketing, business development, public relations in the construction industry or related field. Minimum of 5 years of management experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry and market(s), A/C/E community, and CRE industry with established networks.
  • CRM (client relationship management) platform experience.
  • Professional sales training along with working knowledge of Business Development, Sales, and Marketing principles.
  • Experience with delivering highly professional proposal and interview processes.
  • Able to conduct comprehensive market analysis and strategic sales planning.
  • Able to build client networks and leverage relationships to generate leads.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work with various teams on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Relationship driven individual with the ability to build client networks.
  • Leader with an open mind, practices flexibility, able to prioritize, and support multiple pursuits.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications, advanced ability in PowerPoint and spreadsheets.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written communication skills including business writing.
