ABOUT THE JOB:
The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the integrity, utility, and stability of the company's SAP ERP system. This includes managing the SAP ERP Application, the underlying Oracle Database, Windows Operating System and the Vmware Virtual Machines. The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for planning and coordinating the change management of processes required for the support of SAP systems necessary for business operations and directing the security administration for SAP applications. The SAP Basis Administrator's role is to manage and operate the organization's SAP systems through implementation of best practices. This includes directing others that may be responsible for installing, configuring, securing, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company's investments in proprietary SAP technologies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test, training and production).
- Maintain the integrity of the SAP environment by managing the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly.
- Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance.
- Design and implement an optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability.
- Install and configure all required SAP database servers and application servers.
- Manage SAP users, authorizations, and security profiles.
- Distribute the online SAP user workload and monitor and manage the SAP background job workload.
- Configure and manage the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances.
- Maintain SAP performance by planning and executing SAP tuning strategies.
- Monitor all SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.).
- Administer the SAP Oracle database. (plan and perform database upgrades, apply database maintenance, design and maintain physical database layout, perform database reorganizations, design and implement backup and restore strategy, maintain database security, administer database performance, manage database storage, database problem determination and resolution, etc.).
- Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.
- Experienced in Non-Unicode and Unicode environments, experience using the SUM tool with DMO converting Non-Unicode to Unicode is a plus.
- Lead the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades and support packages.
- Apply and migrate SAP maintenance (hot packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology.
- Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
- Perform SAP System Copies for Production Support and Application Development.
- Document and capture your work via work instructions and technical specifications.
- Apply OSS notes.
- Perform System Measurement and user license analysis.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
QlikSense Administration – manage the QlikView software, security, data reloads, and user licenses. Administer the Windows operating system and Server. Setup and maintain the Integration with system data sources: SAP, Kronos, PTS, Etc.
QlikSense Application Development - Gather user requirements, analyze and develop data sources, develop and test user applications and dashboards.
Engineering System Administrator –Oracle Database administration, SQL Server database administration, Windows Operating System, and Virtual machines. Manage Engineering Systems Change Management processes.
JOB SCOPE:
The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, operation, and change management of the SAP, UKG, Dayforce, Kronos, Engineering and QlikView systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration, and/or 5 years experience in Systems Administration.
- At least 5 yr. direct experience administrating SAP applications (i.e. SAP ECC Basis, Concur, S/4, BTP, Signavio, etc.).
- Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of SAP software solutions.
- Technically fluent in relational database administration.
- Direct experience with SDLC processes.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Certifications in SAP Basis, Systems Administration, or Database Administration preferred.
