Account Leader - South Transit & WSDOT (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a strategic and results-driven South Transit & WSDOT Account Leader to oversee and grow a high-profile portfolio of transportation clients on the U.S. West Coast. This role carries full account responsibility and will focus on leading key accounts such as Sound Transit and WSDOT, with additional oversight of major Southern California transportation agencies including LA Metro, LADOT, and OCTA.

This position will drive client engagement, sales growth, and brand visibility across key markets, ensuring high-impact delivery aligned with Arcadis's global Mobility Market Sector strategy.

Role Accountabilities:

Primary Responsibility (50%) - Account Leadership:

  • Serve as Account Leader for Sound Transit and WSDOT.
  • Lead the development and implementation of multi-year strategic account plans.
  • Define and manage commercial performance goals (bookings, gross margin, Days Receivable Outstanding).
  • Act as the executive point of contact for senior stakeholders within the accounts.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery by collaborating with Operations and Technical Solutions teams.

Secondary Responsibility (30%) - Southern California Transportation Accounts:
  • Directly manage a cluster of strategic accounts including LA Metro, LADOT, and OCTA.
  • Lead account planning, sales strategy development, and execution to achieve revenue and performance goals.
  • Maintain senior client relationships, aligning internal teams to maximize client value.
  • Partner with Market Sector Leaders and Pursuit Teams to drive growth opportunities.

Tertiary Responsibility (20%) - Thought Leadership & Brand Advocacy:
  • Represent Arcadis at industry conferences, forums, and events in Washington and California.
  • Promote Arcadis as a leader in sustainable infrastructure and innovative mobility solutions.
  • Support visibility campaigns, client outreach, and brand positioning initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Foster a culture of growth, accountability, and high-performance within account teams.
  • Collaborate globally with Business Area (BA) Sales, Sector Leadership, and Technical Solutions.
  • Implement innovative business models and leverage commercial excellence frameworks.
  • Engage with peers across sectors to identify synergies and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • 20+ years' experience in the AEC industry.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven success in developing and executing account growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, high-value client relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving revenue and margin targets.
  • Experience engaging with executive-level transportation agency stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strategic focus and strong decision-making ability.
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams with inspiration and clarity of purpose.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in transportation infrastructure consulting or engineering.
  • Prior experience managing public sector or transit agency accounts in the U.S.
  • Familiarity with public-private partnerships and emerging infrastructure funding models.
  • Experience with digital innovation, data analytics, and smart mobility solutions.
  • Involvement in industry associations and thought leadership forums.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $300,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
