Loan Teller (Administrative)



SUMMARY:
The loan teller is responsible for processing loan transactions and providing customer service for consumer, mortgage and commercial lending. The individual frequently interacts with customers, loan officers, branch personnel and other support staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires that the person have a good knowledge of the DNA Core Application System.
Process transactions for loan payments, new loan transactions, payoffs, advances, transfers, check requests, wire transfers, interest and maturity extensions, charge off loan accounts, process loan modification fees, correct any loan payments that were applied incorrectly, waive late charges when directed by collections or by loan officer.
Handle lending customer service calls, research questions, and resolve loan payment issues. Service calls may be related to loan bills, account histories, payoff inquiries, loan interest statements, and vehicle titles.
Responsible to learn the basic general ledger functionality and assist Accounting in the balancing of certain ledger accounts; Monitor entries in the Lending Suspense and Loan Fees in Process, and Loans Disbursements in Process general ledger accounts.
Maintain a monthly spreadsheet of interest extensions granted; makes copies of this spreadsheet to distribute to the Board of Directors monthly.
Process any stop payments on lending treasurer/treasurer checks on loan accounts.
Maintain a monthly spreadsheet for Commercial Appraisals.
Process loan verifications for Consumer and Mortgage loan accounts.
Process bankruptcy payments for loan accounts.
Process any YTD interest adjustment on loan accounts.
Research returned mail concerning loan billings to find correct mailing address.
Work on special projects as needed
Assist training bank tellers in posting loan payments accurately.
Participates in Beta Testing for DNA when necessary.
Working collaboratively with team members to achieve goals and enhance overall customer experience.
Strong attention to detail is crucial for precise transaction processing and maintaining accurate records.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills are essential for effectively assisting customers and building rapport.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT:
Adhere to regulatory laws and guidelines while maintaining customer focus. Compliance with regulatory requirements, company policy, and procedures, are a part of all job descriptions in the Bank and is evaluated annually through on-line training courses. Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to BSA policy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related office experience and three to six months as a full-time teller with good balancing record.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret procedures and reports. Ability to write routine correspondence using proper grammar and accurate spelling. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and bank staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such interest.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be eager to learn, apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
