We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Pattern Maker to join our growing Product Development team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical environment and brings a deep understanding of garment construction, fit, and pattern development. You will take ownership of developing production-ready patterns, collaborate cross-functionally, and help uphold fit and quality standards-particularly in tailored garments for men and women.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, and digitize accurate computerized patterns using Gerber AccuMark software.
  • Interpret design specifications and translate them into production-ready patterns, ensuring proper fit, balance and garment construction integrity.
  • Adjust and correct patterns based on fit sessions and wear test evaluations, maintaining the integrity of the design and style.
  • Finalize production patterns, including grading, alterations, and size code development.
  • Create and maintain finished dimension charts and grading charts to support both product development and production teams.
  • Develop and uphold fit standards across multiple product categories.
  • Provide clear technical advice, fit comments, and pattern guidance to the product development team.
  • Write and maintain technical sewing instructions to ensure consistent and correct garment construction throughout sample and production stages.
  • Communicate effectively with overseas and domestic factories, vendors, and sample makers regarding pattern specs, fit, and construction details.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for potential production, quality, or cost-related issues, maintaining design and fit intent.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive pattern library for reference and ongoing use.
  • Ensure fit accuracy, garment balance, and precision across all styles-modifying or adapting existing blocks as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality control, fellow pattern makers, and management to resolve technical or construction challenges.
  • Research and explore new tools, technologies, or pattern development techniques to enhance product innovation and process efficiency.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency or familiarity with Gerber AccuMark CAD software is required.
  • Solid understanding of pattern design principles, garment construction, and fit standards; ability to develop finishing techniques that align with design intent.
  • Ability to interpret and apply grade rules across a wide range of garment styles and sizes.
  • Working knowledge of fabric behavior and how different constructions impact garment fit and appearance.
  • Ability to dictate and document technical fit comments, construction notes, and pattern corrections clearly and professionally.
  • Strong measurement and quality inspection skills for pre-production samples submitted by vendors/factories.
  • Experience with how to create solutions for complex designs across a diverse product line.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage pattern libraries, technical specifications, and digital file systems in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including sample makers, designers, and factory partners (both domestic and international).
  • Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently or within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines and flexibility to adjust as needed during critical development stages.
  • A strong interest in technical apparel development and a willingness to grow and innovate within the pattern-making discipline.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Additional hands-on experience in pattern making is preferred.
  • 3-5+ years experience with Gerber AccuMark.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of pattern making experience in a design or production environment is preferred, particularly in tailored apparel.
  • Experience working with tailored garments (men's and women's tops and bottoms) is strongly preferred, including a solid understanding of fit, balance, and the nuances of structured garment construction.
  • Prior experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, factories (domestic and overseas), and sample makers is a plus.
  • A proven ability in managing digital pattern libraries, fit documentation, and grading specifications.
