Position Overview:
The SQF Practitioner is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, assessment, and maintenance of the SQF system, as well as communicating all information essential to ensuring its integrity and effectiveness to the Leadership Team. This position reports directly to the Corporate Compliance Manager.




Responsibilities:
· Facilitate compliance with SQF standards through assessment of the SQF system and any necessary corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs) to maintain certification.
· Facilitate customer complaint investigations and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
· Update and monitor the customer complaint register.
· Facilitate the review, testing, and verification of the business continuity plan updating the plan as necessary and managing plan records.
· Update SQF document registers as changes to relevant controlled documents are made.
· Verify and maintain all SQF monitoring records associated with pre-requisite programs and food safety and quality plans including appropriate disposal at the end of the record retention period.
· Facilitate product development and commercialization activities as they relate to the SQF system.
· Maintain raw material and product contact packaging material specifications.
· Verify and maintain raw and product contact packaging certificates of analysis and letters of guarantee upon receipt.
· Assure product labeling is accurate and complies with relevant regulation.
· Assists in development of specifications for contract service providers and manufactures, perform contract reviews, and maintain records associated with contract services and products.
· Facilitate the development, documentation, and maintenance of finished product food safety and quality specifications and the finished specification register.
· Facilitate the development, documentation, and maintenance of the food safety and food quality plans.
· Manage the raw material and food contact packaging approved supplier program.
· Manage instances of non-conforming ingredient, food contact packaging, work in process, finished goods, or equipment detected during receipt, storage, processing, handling, or delivery and facilitates corrective and preventive actions in response to these instances.
· Facilitate verification and validation activities associated with food safety and quality controls identified in food safety and food quality plans.
· Perform internal audits to verify the effectiveness of the SQF system including facility and equipment inspections, pre-requisite programs, food safety and quality plans, and legislative controls.
· Facilitate internal audit corrective and preventive actions.
· Perform mock recalls to verify the effectiveness of the product trace system.
· Facilitate food defense meetings and the actions required.
· Facilitate finished product, product contact, water, air, and environmental microbiological testing and resulting in corrective and preventive actions with quality.
· Manage pest control program and facilitate associated corrective and preventive actions.
· Manage equipment calibration program with quality and facilitate associated corrective and preventive actions.
· Verify cleaning and sanitation, waste disposal, and exterior maintenance activities and facilitate associated corrective and preventive actions.
· Verify the effectiveness of preventive maintenance and maintenance work order processes and facilitate associated corrective and preventive actions.
· Foreign material control



Qualifications:
· Associates degree in a science based related area of study
· 3+ years hands-on plant quality assurance experience in a food industry or related manufacturing facility.
· Must be PCQI certified.
· Knowledge of food packaging principles, food industry quality and food safety requirements, ingredient performance and interactions with equipment, statistical process control, critical control points and new product scale up dynamics.
· Experience development, implementation, training and administration of quality lab processes, GMP, SQF, HACCP, FDA, Kosher or other regulatory or industry certification program development and administration.
· Understanding of sanitation systems, techniques and procedures.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Results driven and attention to detail.
· Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate well cross-functionally and work well at all levels of the organization.
· Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting and judgment skills.
· Good team player able to work well with others and contribute to a positive work environment.
· Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and related production and product information systems.
· Desire to work in a fast-paced high growth environment.
· Must be willing to be a hands-on performer and spend significant time on the plant production floor and provide coverage and support across shifts as needed.
· Responsible for following food safety/regulatory policies and procedures, executing responsibilities as identified in standard operating procedures, and reporting food safety/regulatory concerns to the Corporate Compliance Manager or Quality Assurance Manager.


Hours, Location and Pay:
We offer a competitive-based pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This role is from 8:00am to 4:30pm on a Monday- Friday schedule at our Little Chute, WI manufacturing facility, and will assist with tasks as needed to support the Neenah, WI location. These hours may flex during audits and based off job duties assigned.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally have to operate business machines and lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
