Sr Building Automation Technician - HVAC (Finance)



As a Sr Building Automation Technician here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful operation and maintenance of building automation systems. You will work on advanced HVAC control systems, ensuring they are efficient, reliable, and meet customer needs.

You will report directly to our Field Service Manager and you'll work out of our Chicago, IL.

In this role, you will impact customer satisfaction and business growth through your leadership and strategic decision-making, ensuring the success of our field service operations.As a Sr Field Service Technician here at Honeywell, you will provide high-level technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, perform maintenance, and train customers and junior technicians, driving customer satisfaction.YOU MUST HAVE

  • 3+ years of experience with HVAC controls or building automation systems field including commissioning and start up.
  • Experience working in Niagara Tridium environment with BACnet, Modbus, and/or LonWorks knowledge.
  • Experience working with system sequence of operations, system graphics and configuring & mapping system points.
  • Experience working with front end & station configuration, computers networks and switches.
  • Experience working with project plans, schematics and design concepts.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  • Must have experience in writing as well as demonstrated understanding of computer programs and software applications as related to the HVAC Industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.

WE VALUE
  • Knowledge of system protocols including BACnet, Lon, Modbus, HTML. JAVA is a plus.
  • Controls experience in a large commercial environment. Honeywell, JCI, Andover, and/or Niagara-Tridium system experience is ideal.
  • Motivated team player with customer focused attitude.
  • Electrical/electronic background a plus.

  • Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems.
  • Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
  • Consults with the customer through data gathered and site assessments.
  • Provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment.
  • Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.
  • Manages assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction.
  • Interfaces with service business leader, service supervisor, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Adheres to all Honeywell and customer safety standards.
  • Trains the customer in control systems operations.
  • Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.
  • Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
  • Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
  • Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
  • May provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
  • Keeps management and Honeywell contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system.

The annual base salary range for this position is $55,100-82,700. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
