Associate Manager, Category + Shopper Insights (Finance)

The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 110,112.00 USD - 152,092.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Associate Manager, Category + Shopper Insights will:

  • Serve as the expert in category and shopper for the personal care & beauty categories
  • Partner with Consumer Insights to inform category insights and drive alignment between consumer and category messaging
  • Manage and maintain standard organizational consumption reporting, including the transition to DIP (Data Integration Platform)
  • Serve as day-to-day manager of the relationship with key data and insight vendors - NIQ (Nielsen) and Numerator
  • Assist the director / lead custom research activities related to assigned categories
  • Support the director in some area of vendor relationship management
  • Work with CEET (Category Excellence & Execution Team), CBD (Commercial Brand Development) + Innovation and ensure the organization has actionable category and shopper insights to inform strategy and product development as well as CATEGORY-FOCUSED selling information

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and plan category leadership solutions that deliver profitable sales growth for LSB with a focus on Personal Care and Beauty
  • Leverage LSB Category + Shopper Leadership toolbox such as Nielsen Data, Customer-specific POS & Panel, Numerator + other internal/external tools
  • Identify specific research opportunities (shopper, consumer, etc.) to bring new learning to category leadership solutions
  • Assist with HQ lead research projects when appropriate, to provide context that will improve the applicability of results in the mass / club channel.
  • Leverage insights and resources through the utilization of a broad range of data sources, market research findings, tools, analyses, and technology to continually bring new shopper ideas to customer and company; incorporate in all category solutions for assigned major customer(s)
  • Create / Maintain any customer specific topline reporting / KPI tracking (reporting that is supplemental to HQ generated reporting)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years in category management / analytics at a major syndicated data provider or established consumer packaged goods company OR Masters degree and 3+ years relevant experience
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Detailed-oriented tactician with proactive approach and work ethic appropriate for a fast-paced, team-oriented, growth company
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines
  • Ability to independently assess data, integrate into selling stories and leverage it to grow our business
  • High degree of curiosity on consumer/retail behaviors + insights
  • Excellent presentation skills and a colorful storyteller
  • Team player eager to support others & build group culture
  • Experience in partnering with / presenting in leadership-level situations
  • Towering technical skills, especially in excel and powerpoint
  • Ability to communicate with data and information in a clear and concise fashion
  • Proficient with syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen)
  • Experience with retailer shopper card (84*51, CVS ExtraCare etc)
  • Solid experience in shopper insights concepts and metrics

JOB DETAILS

  • Full time position
  • This role is located in San Francisco, CA.
  • 4 days a week in-office requirement, 1 day a week remote
  • This role is not offering relocation assistance
  • Travel approx. 15%
