Production Planner (Middleton) (Finance)



Join TK Elevator as a Production Planner in Middleton, TN, and help shape efficient logistics while ensuring workplace safety!EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant field required.
  • APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management a plus (CPIM).
  • Three or more years' experience in Production Control/Planning and/or Scheduling area within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access. Spreadsheet formulation, queries, v-lookup, advanced formatting techniques and etc.
  • Possess extensive experience in working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
    Possess very strong communication skills (verbal and written) along with sound interpersonal skills to all levels of organization.
    Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks and projects as needed.
  • Must possess excellent problem solving and problem prevention skills.
    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook) required.
  • Project Management experience a plus.
    SAP experience a plus.

TK Elevator is currently seeking a Production Planner located in Middleton, TN.

Responsible for operating, developing and improving the internal and external logistics processes that deliver safe, repeatable, cost-effective service that consistently meet company and customer needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for planning and scheduling daily production considering demand, capacity and material availability.
  • Ensures that jobs released to build have material available and resource capacity through the Clear to Build process utilizing various systems (5REQ database, Delayed Job database, Shop Load, etc.).
  • Communicates build sequence to manufacturing through daily schedule for jobs that have been determined are Clear to Build.
  • Reports material shortages through the Delayed Job Process database and follow up on delivery of material to ensure jobs can be released to production.
  • Ensures there are no gaps in production sequence.
  • Helps establish and monitor WIP buffers for areas identified. Audit as needed to ensure discipline to process.
  • Helps establish and monitor SWIP in each area.
  • Audits to ensure correct inventory levels in order to support production
  • Ensures pull process is functioning smoothly
  • Audits pull tools as necessary to ensure process discipline (kanbans, pull board, etc.)
  • Follows-up with production schedules and helps establish metrics for schedule adherence.
  • Communicates and coordinates design level changers, part/material obsolescence, and new part introductions so the customer is receiving the correct materials.
  • Helps document Standard Work and SOPs as needed.
