Position Summary:
\n
The University of South Florida College of Nursing invites applications for a tenured Full Professor position. The college is seeking a nationally recognized scholar with a distinguished record of sustained, federally funded research and high-impact publications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interdisciplinary collaboration in the fields of health disparities, health policy, and health outcomes research, particularly at the intersection with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing.Minimum:

    \n
  • Doctoral degree in Economics, Public Health, or a closely related field.
  • \n
  • National or international reputation for research with demonstrated impact on health disparities and outcomes.
  • \n
  • Extensive experience with large, complex datasets (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, VHA, SEER-Medicare, NHIS, MEPS).
  • \n
  • Proficiency in advanced econometric and statistical techniques (e.g., multilevel modeling, instrumental variables, propensity scores).
  • \n
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring learners and professionals across disciplines.
  • \n
  • Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Full Professor with tenure at the University of South Florida.
  • \n

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated success in securing and leading multi-institutional, interdisciplinary research initiatives.
  • \n
  • Experience with advanced data science techniques, including machine learning and natural language processing.
  • \n
  • Strong record of interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty across health-related disciplines.
  • \n
  • Prior academic leadership experience.
  • \n
  • Active participation in professional organizations or editorial boards related to health services research or health economics.
  • \n

Responsibilities include mentoring graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, junior and interdisciplinary faculty; engaging in collaborative research across colleges (e.g., AI, Cybersecurity, and computer Science, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing, Medicine); teaching graduate-level courses in health economics, research methods, or data science; and contributing to institutional service and strategic initiatives related to academic program development.
