What you'll do:
You will be responsible for managing the existing SBA loan portfolio – including monitoring, analyzing, and providing guidance to internal product partners on post-closing SBA servicing and liquidation activities throughout Wintrust Financial Corporation. You will be responsible for managing certain credit relationships – including gathering, analyzing and underwriting all business and personal financial data for the purpose of issuing, extending, amending, and reviewing a commercial credit facility. You are expected to be the liaison between the bank and the SBA to ensure consistent compliance with SBA rules and regulations to preserve the SBA guaranty.
Oversee internal and external SBA audits as the primary contact for Wintrust's 16 charter banks.
Establish and maintain relationships with community bankers, business bankers, SBA team members and Managed Assets Department within Wintrust Community Banks to appropriately service the existing SBA portfolio and ensure continued SBA compliance.
Work with charter banks to evaluate SBA servicing requests using a thorough knowledge of loan policy, guidelines, procedures and SBA standard operating procedures. When appropriate, prepare credit memorandums documenting servicing approvals.
Work with Managed Assets to ensure compliance with SBA's servicing & liquidation procedures to maximize recovery through:
Providing guidance on SBA related requirements on various servicing requests, documentation requirements, and workout/liquidation strategies
Timely submission of Universal Purchase Packages to collect SBA Guarantees
Compliant litigation plans to increase bank's reimbursable legal expenses
Ensure timely submission of all required SBA loan packages (Offer in Compromise, Charge-Off Requests, Care & Preservation of Collateral, etc.)
Execute exemplary portfolio management via the following:
Coordinate quarterly SBA problem loan discussions with charter banks
Maintaining appropriate risk rating on all SBA credits at all times
Managing administrative past dues to 0% at all times
Managing delinquencies as close to 0% at all times
Keeping documentation exceptions to a minimu
Takes part in bank events during and after hours.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of SBA experience; servicing and liquidation experience preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Must have excellent time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with interpersonal and customer service skills
Proficiency using Microsoft Office products

Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this role is $71,000 - $110,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
