Medical Director, Pediatric Kidney Transplant (Finance)



Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida is seeking a board-certified/eligible MD or DO to serve as Medical Director of our Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program in Orlando. This full-time clinical faculty position offers a unique opportunity to lead and grow a world-class transplant program within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

About the Opportunity

This is an exceptional leadership role for a pediatric nephrologist with a passion for kidney transplant care-spanning clinical operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic program development. The position includes 75% clinical effort, with approximately half of that dedicated to transplant patients, and 25% protected time for research, program leadership, or academic growth.

As Medical Director, you will join a highly collaborative team of three pediatric nephrologists, supported by experienced nephrology nurses, dietitians, social workers, and business administrators. You'll also work closely with pediatric surgery, urology, and an adult transplant program to ensure seamless, multidisciplinary care.

Division Highlights

  • Comprehensive care for acute kidney injury, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis (CKRT, PD, HD), plasmapheresis, and transplantation
  • 4,000+ outpatient visits and 1,500+ inpatient encounters annually
  • Strong infrastructure with many assays run in-house in our dedicated laboratory
  • Faculty appointments with UCF College of Medicine, commensurate with experience

Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. with fellowship training in Pediatric Nephrology
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Nephrology
  • Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license
  • Demonstrated leadership in transplant care and/or academic medicine
  • Commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching, and scholarship
