Job Description

Job Title: Welder Co Op / Trainee Date: May 2025

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Summary

American Fan has an opportunity for a Welder Co Op based in our Fairfield, OH facility. American Fan is rapidly growing so this position will be able to support the needs of the business while learning on the job techniques. We offer a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted defense contractor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks in accordance with procedures and the company's training program.
• Use required safety equipment and apparel.
• Individual must be capable of Performance Qualification Testing & Certification to our facility's approved welding procedures used to fabricate valves for the Navy that meet requirements
• Applicant must be able to read and interpret detailed procedures/blueprints and use multiple welding processes. The welding processes may include GMAW and semi-automatic machine autogenous welds. The thickness of the fabrication welding ranges from 1/8 to 1inch plate.
• Good housekeeping of equipment and area adjacent to machines to which they use or are assigned, daily.
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary in connection with the position.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• High School / Trade School preferred
• Must be pursuing or finished with trade school degree
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices

• Ability to Weld (MIG & TIG) mild steel, 304 & 316SS, aluminum
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow directions, safety conscience
• Ability to use hand tools
• Certified to be a Navy Welder as per Company Qualification Matrix
