Sustainability Manager (Finance)

Description:
Manage, plan, and coordinate the overall, university-wide sustainability efforts. Ensures efficiency and effectiveness programs and elevating on and off campus awareness. Coordinate all aspects of sustainability (social, environmental and economic elements) for the University of Houston.
1. Manages the day-to-day activities for the Office of Sustainability including staff, assignments, and projects.
2. Develops short and long-term strategic plans, lead reporting initiatives and develop reporting protocols for the university.
3. Establishes and monitors department budget and explore new potential funding opportunities.
4. Leads the efforts for new sustainability projects and provide guidance to campus partners for upcoming projects.
5. Develops policies and procedures to ensure successful programs.
6. Coordinates sustainability council and committees meeting and serves as primary contact.
7. Manages sustainability staff and student workers.
8. Responsible for training and education to staff, faculty, and students to enhance the campus awareness.
9. Oversees the communication and outreach strategies planning initiatives.
10. Preforms other job-related duties as needed.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, environmental studies or a similar field of study preferred. LEED Accredited Professional strongly preferred.
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience
