Role description:

Arcadis is currently looking for an Industrial Intern to join our A& U East team with a focus on healthcare systems optimization. This internship offers the opportunity to apply industrial and systems principles to analyze, design, and optimize healthcare-related processes, facility layouts, and resource management. The position will involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions and support strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

Role accountabilities:

As an Industrial Intern you will assist with:

Analysis of Existing Systems:

  • Perform comprehensive analysis of labor, materials, processes, facility layouts, and unit costs within healthcare operations.
  • Develop Conceptual Models:
    • Design and refine conceptual models to analyze and optimize key system components.
  • Collaborate with Architectural/Computational Design Teams:
    • Work closely with architectural and computational design teams to build robust and scalable system models.
  • Develop Presentation Materials:
    • Create professional presentation materials for the executive team to effectively communicate findings, insights, and Key Process Indicators (KPIs).
  • Document Processes:
    • Take initiative to thoroughly document workflows, methodologies, and observations for future reference and improvement.
  • Define Key Process Indicators:
    • Identify critical KPIs and define the supporting data required for measurement and tracking.

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Healthcare Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, modeling tools, and computational design software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in creating professional presentations.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to documenting and improving processes.
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems or facility design is a plus but not required.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $17.00 - $30.00 / hour. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
