NGL Inventory and Scheduling Analyst (Finance)



POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inventory and Scheduling Analyst plays a crucial tactical role for Targa Liquids Marketing and Trade (TLMT).  The position is responsible for coordinating the production and distribution of gas liquids heavies supply from over 6 production and distribution facilities across a 4-state region to a large portfolio of butane blending, condensate, fractionator, refinery and gas plant customers.  This role requires frequent interaction with customers and various in-house plant operations and transportation providers to ensure that customer service, inventory management and transportation asset utilization objectives are achieved. The position can be based in Houston, TX.

 JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and coordinate product distribution strategies with Marketing Representatives
  • Maintain plant, refinery and terminal inventory forecasts and monitor inventory levels
  • Optimize rail and truck shipments in the field based upon ever changing customer demand.  Also, responsible for Scheduling truck shipments to fulfill customer orders
  • Leverage Targa assets to provide our customers with the best support and logistics
  • Evaluate logistic synergies with railcars, trucks and transloading
  • Coordinate heavies business/accounting month end close activities with accounting and work with customers on month end exchanges and nominations for the following month
  • Schedule butane blending windows to effectively maintain our inventory at our terminals and remain in constant contact with our transportation contractors to ensure proper departure/arrival timing of shipments
  • Provide prompt response to customer and supplier schedule and delivery changes
  • Produce and distribute product delivery schedules to production facilities and transportation service providers
  • Develop plans and priorities with Transport Dispatchers that maximize customer service and asset utilization
  • RightAngle leadership with freight rates, freight orders, accounting reconciliations and general reporting into S21 to assist Heavies marketing team.  Also focus on accounts receivables across all business lines: condensate marketing and heavies marketing
  • Occasional visits to plants, refineries, and customer facilities
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong mathematical / quantitative skills
  • Enjoys "number-crunching" and analysis
  • Can manage multiple assignments simultaneously and assign priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills
  • Listens to customer needs and remains effective and positive when dealing with difficult or unsatisfied customers
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply quantitative analysis techniques using MS Excel
  • Extended hours will be necessary at times.  Must be available to receive and respond to customer and plant telephone calls 24 x 7
  • Regular and reliable attendance

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Finance, Logistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Science
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex distribution problems
  • 2 or more years experience in transportation-related field
