Systems Administrator (Information Technology)



Job Summary

The Windows System Administrator Associate is responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining and upgrading systems in our on-premises, private cloud, and Azure public cloud platforms. This role also ensures the stability, performance and security of these systems.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, configure, document, automate, and administrator Windows server-based operating systems on physical and virtual hardware deployed at various domestic and international locations
  • Identify, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows system related issues including performance tuning and incident root cause analysis
  • Administer VMware vSphere environments including virtual machine management and troubleshooting, vCenter management tasks and ESXi administration
  • Knowledgeable in PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledgeable in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies i.e. Terraform
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide incident management support to ensure system availability

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Work Experience

At least 2-3 years of experience in system administration 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • 2+ years of experience administering and troubleshooting Windows 2016, 2019, and 2022+ Servers
  • 2+ years of experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory and related services
  • 2+ years of experience with administering VMware vSphere environments up to and including vCenter deployment and management
  • Operational knowledge of shared storage systems that support virtualization deployments such as VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN)
  • Hands-on knowledge and understanding of hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to resolve problems such as file system capacity, consistency and integrity of file systems, understand and take action on hardware related problems such as CPU, RAM, and disk failures.
  • At least one year of administering a Microsoft Azure cloud tenant
  • Certifications related to Windows operating systems or VMware vSphere preferred but not required
  • Experience installing, administering, and troubleshooting Windows Server operating system products in an enterprise environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to present areas of expertise to team members with guidance from lead/manager
  • Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to improve performance and capabilities across all areas of responsibility utilizing formal and informal training to maintain skill sets
  • Consistently demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • This position may require up to 10% travel, potentially to include international travel.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$85,280.00 - $123,760.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
