Schneider Electric North America Operations Power Systems Division has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to assume the role of SEE Electrical 3D Panel+ Engineer at our Smyrna, TN and Mt. Juliet, TN facilities.

Overview :

The SEE Electrical 3D Panel+ Engineer translates customer requirements into detailed electrical designs; developing and maintaining mechanical models and drawings for low voltage wiring compartments. The candidate is responsible for designing pans, assemblies, and wire harnesses for our Medium Voltage products, implementing designs into the SEE platform, and supporting product introduction at our manufacturing facilities.

The products supported are complex, engineered-to-order (customized) medium voltage electrical distribution, protection, and control equipment. These products are applied to distribute utility and generator electrical power to various environments, including industrial, water/wastewater, and data centers.

Other Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop 3D model libraries for our Switchgear products using Creo and SEE 3D Panel+
  • Design customer orders in SEE 3D Panel+ by assembling sheet metal mounting pans with electrical components to enable wire routing determination
  • Maintain 3D model libraries as equipment product designs are updated
  • Drive continuous improvement of the model creation and maintenance processes
  • Assist with future activities to automate the design process for customer orders
  • Acknowledge and normalize engineering related issues as they occur throughout the manufacturing process. This will include answering manufacturing questions, resolving issues at the point of detection, and engaging the engineer of record on more complex issues.
  • Review and interpret specifications, drawings, electrical schematics, bill of material and other supporting material to resolve identified challenges/issues.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong initiative to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering or a related field
  • Experience with 3D modeling - preferably Creo
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into electrical designs; creating deliverables including 3D models and wire harnesses
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings for medium voltage equipment; especially for Schneider Electric ranges.
  • Ability to work in mix between office and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to gain full proficiency in Engineering and other job-related tools: SEE XP, AutoCAD, Symmetry, LDS, ODM+, etc.
  • Effective time management to acknowledge and normalize raised eAndons from manufacturing
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both engineering department and plant manufacturing personnel
  • Actively participate in SIM meetings representing the engineering team to manufacturing
  • 3 plus years' experience in the design or manufacture of electrical distribution equipment preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong initiative to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment with a specific aptitude and ability to learn electrical design of electrical power distribution equipment
  • US citizen or those who have the legal right to work in the US with no sponsorship
