Assistant Professor, Division of General Internal Medicine - Internal Medicine, McGovern Medical School (Finance)



McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston , a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position in the Department of Internal Medicine , Division of General Internal Medicine .

The selected candidate will contribute to the Department's mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through high-level responsibilities: research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services.

The Division of General Internal Medicine is looking for a board-certified/board-eligible Assistant Professor. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient care, ensuring high clinical quality and efficiency. This position focuses on delivering effective medical services to patients.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Developing and sustaining an environment in the patient care units that supports excellence and innovation in clinical practice and patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and standards that support positive patient care outcomes, including excellent risk-adjusted outcomes.
  • Identifying patient and family needs of the populations served, recommending and/or developing new programs and services to meet those needs.
  • Assuring that age-specific equipment, supplies, and educational resources are available for assigned units/services.

In addition, all UTHealth Houston employees who are assigned to work at a location that is subject to the affiliated partner's hospital, clinical offices, or agency are required to abide by UTHealth Houston's rules and regulations, as well as the affiliate's rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this position must hold a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty License. They must meet the required or preferred board certification or eligibility criteria.
