Asst Director of Development, Annual Giving (Finance)



The selected candidate will lead development and execution of targeted direct marketing appeals in collaboration with the Director of Development and Annual Giving team through all available mediums (e.g. web/digital, email, and phone, mail). This position will develop and manage the tracking, analyzing, and reporting of appeal results, lead projects from start to finish, work with our partners, launch new efforts, and testing, and always improving. The selected candidate will support efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward our alumni, friends, and parents to increase annual unrestricted financial support as we look to expand our growing pipeline of supporters.

Familiarity with higher education, large organizations and/or nonprofit environment are preferred. Ability to work with multiple deadlines and multiple priorities as well as social media expertise.

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of fundraising experience or other appropriate related experience.
  • Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate ( https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310 ) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
  • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
  • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
    • Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
    • Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
    • Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree

Lead all activities required to achieve an on-time mail drop and e-solicitation, along with other channels of solicitation consistent with the USF Foundation and University Communications and Marketing branding. Work alongside the Director of Development to execute solicitation calendars, fundraising events, campaigns and other fundraising needs.

Planning and execution of all efforts for USF Giving Week as they relate to this position's assigned clients and other needs as assigned by the Director of Direct Marketing; this includes training sessions, monthly challenges, contests, events tracking, reporting and execution of all channels within Direct Marketing.

Interact with other faculty and institutional leadership as needed to understand and promote fundraising priorities and needs. Work collaboratively and creatively with other Development Directors and development colleagues to enhance the potential interest their department needs. Work closely with advancement communication team.

Support special campaigns throughout the year, including but not limited to BOLD causes, HerdFunder campaigns, Loyalty Herd and Presidents Circle.

Oversee relevant external relationships with vendors around fulfillment, marketing, and collateral to ensure accurate, timely and meaningful communications between the organization and members. Oversee all program-related contracts, invoices, vendor procurement and Requests for Proposals.
