Sr Estimator (Finance)



The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality proposals and estimates for strategic projects, utilizing their experience and available resources to maintain a high success rate. This role requires leading cross-functional teams in developing accurate and timely estimates and proposals while ensuring the highest value to the customer by responding to complete bid packages.

The Senior Estimator will work with both internal teams and external vendors to develop the most cost-effective technical and commercial solutions, and it's responsible for making sure the proposal is delivered on time.As a Sr Estimator here at Honeywell, you will manage the estimation process, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop accurate project bids, ensuring high-quality work that supports growth and profitability. You will work out of our Houston, TX location on a Hybrid work schedule.YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 5-10 years of experience in process automation and/or solutions.
  • 3-5 years of proposal estimation experience in automation projects. Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy or Pulp & Paper Industries.
  • Experience using Salesforce, CPQ or similar tools for quotations.

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to understand and relate to customer requirements.
  • Leadership or project management experience is preferred.
  • An ability to take initiative and work with limited direction
  • Strong numerical aptitude
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel Ability to meet and improve delivered financial results from implemented estimates
  • Six Sigma experience, Green Belt certification a strong plus
  • Other languages are beneficial (Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Portuguese, French)
  • Planning, organizing, delegating, decision making Ability to work with others in a team environment.

  • Prepare responses to customer requests for proposals, estimates, and supporting documents while ensuring alignment with sales and operations teams.
  • Deliver high-quality proposals, continually seeking ways to improve processes and customer service.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver proposals and estimates, coordinating with internal Honeywell organizations and third-party vendors.
  • Utilize systems and tools to maintain accurate documentation of estimates, proposals, and supporting information. •
  • Propose technical and commercial alternatives to enable the lowest compliant bid and highest value to the customer. Study RFQ and other technical documents to propose suitable solutions that meet customer technical and commercial requirements.
  • Estimate LSS and PAS projects and services using relevant tools and methodologies.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and other supporting areas to obtain technical and commercial offers from sub-vendors and third-party vendors.
  • Complete full proposals with the required scope of supply/documents, working with relevant functions within the organization or subcontractors (Complete response to Bid Package).
  • Respond to post-proposal technical clarifications and update proposals accordingly.
  • Create and submit e-GAP documents as part of the proposal process.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of Honeywell products and competitor solutions, and lead standardization of best practices across teams.
  • Prepare a comprehensive Proposal Plan, ensuring proper resource allocation, deliverables, responsibilities, and dates for all team members. Lead proposal teams in delivering large proposals for multiple clients, including international projects.
