Director, Business Operations & Strategy (Finance)



About the Role

The Claims Solutions division at Verisk is looking for a strategic thinker to serve as the Director, Business Operations & Strategy reporting to the division's Chief Business Officer. This is a high impact position focused on driving growth and operational excellence within the high-performing and dynamic Claims Solutions Division.

The ideal candidate brings a mix of business acumen with a strong ability to balance strategic thinking and tactical execution. This is a unique opportunity to partner closely with the Claims Solutions leadership team in shaping and supporting the goals and objectives. In a typical day, you may assist in developing a business case for a new innovation, work with counterparts across Verisk to problem solve an operational issue or conduct an analysis and present it to the leadership team. This role offers high-level visibility and responsibility while working in the fast-paced Claims business and will require you to demonstrate proven experience operational and strategic skills within a C-suite environment.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

Collaborate directly with the CBO to provide strategic, analytical and operational support across all of Claims.

  • Drive follow-through on critical projects, ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely execution.
  • Sample projects could include:
    • Pressure test & support business cases for innovation.
    • Conduct market and competitive research and synthesize insights.
    • Design & roll out market research and competitive intelligence program.
    • Build out global talent optimization strategy.
    • Participate in M&A processes, including evaluation and integration.

Claims Operational Support & Leadership Enablement
  • Own preparation for key Claims-wide meetings, including agendas, briefing documents, and presentations.
    • Build out then monitor key KPIs on business objectives and flag risks, delays, or opportunities for adjustment.
    • Facilitate cross business unit and support functions and problem-solving among senior stakeholders.

Special Projects & Business Operations
  • Manage special projects and initiatives as directed by the CBO
    • Collaborate with Finance, Strategy, Legal, and other departments to advance business objectives.
    • Problem solve across key projects, ensure solutions mindset within teams.
About You and How You Can Excel in This Role
  • 5-10 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking and/or business operations
  • Demonstrated success building persuasive analysis through strategic understanding and data
  • Experience in plan and lead projects in a matrized organization
  • Experience working within C-suite
  • Self-directed, execution-oriented, problem-solver
  • Highly collaborative with experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Preference for In-Office: Jersey City, Salt Lake City, Boston, Bradenton
