Systems Test Engineer 2 (Finance)



Overview

We are seeking a full-time Systems Test Engineer 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing electrical and software support to complex Automotive OEM systems.

Essential Functions

  • Provides system support for testing systems in OEM programs
  • Ability to query / leverage data across multiple databases to evaluate trends in production data (SQL, Python, Java, C, C++)
  • Supports implementation of product updates (hardware and software)
  • Integration of all equipment components and I/O
  • Validates Customer system and functional requirements
  • Analyze data to predict possible quality trends and implement mitigation
  • Serves as the local expert in test systems and product functionality
  • Collaborates with process engineers and developers to streamline or modify test sequences
  • Design and develop basic software applications
  • Design, test and validate all aspects of the electrical hardware design
  • Interact with automation design team to ensure electrical feasibility
  • Communicates status and schedule for the system testing needs applicable to planned deliveries
  • Provides feedback to development teams to ensure solutions are designed to meet system testing needs
  • Provides troubleshooting support to identify the system root cause
  • Provides clear and concise details on issues sufficient for internal or external customers
  • Identifies and implements improvements to system testing processes and guidance
  • Identifies improvements and modifies tools for use in system testing
  • May set up and operate 3rd party equipment
  • May identify and coordinate updates and/or improvements to integration bench set ups
  • Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using root cause analysis, FMEA, Six Sigma, Value Engineering or other problem solving techniques
  • Applies a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities to develop timely solutions
  • Conduct training for equipment operators and maintenance technicians
  • Troubleshoot, support and continuously improve existing automated solutions

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in SQL, Python, knowledge of Java, C, and/or C++
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Previous experience with Electrical panel design, PLC and HMI programming, controls and vision systems, and VB/VB.net/C# programming
  • Demonstrates mastery of relevant tools for use in system testing
  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of requirements for simulator qualification
Desired Qualifications
  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
  • Previous work or internship experience with consumer or aviation products
