Position Overview

The Dragline Oiler assists the dragline operator in multiple areas. The Dragline Oiler will use large earth-moving machines, such as bulldozers, excavators and front-end loaders and/or other huge machinery to lift, haul, push, roll, load and move aggregate and aggregate related materials. Oiler will assist in machine inspections, moving cable and maintenance on the dragline Fosters teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of self and others.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Operate bulldozers, loaders and/or other heavy equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment.
  • Assist Quarry Manager and/or Production Foreman in coordinating materials handling and equipment usage.
  • Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance in a flexible work schedule.
  • Properly follow & promote all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Must maintain at all times a strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
  • May perform other duties including but not limited to operating equipment.
  • Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and public.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily according to CYD guidelines and standards.

Work Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Two years of related heavy equipment mechanical experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of the use and capabilities of heavy equipment and machinery used in maintenance and construction tasks.
  • Knowledge of both traffic and safety rules.
  • Knowledge of the practices and techniques applied to the safe operation of heavy equipment.
  • Ability to keep records and make oral or written reports.
  • Ability to make simple arithmetic computations.
