Join our innovative team in Burlington, Massachusetts, where we specialize in the development and production of advanced ceramic components for aerospace turbomachinery! We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Supervisor for our 2nd and 3rd shifts to oversee production operations and ensure operational excellence during non-standard hours.

OVERVIEW
The Manufacturing Supervisor, 2nd Shift, will manage second shift production operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output. Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Supervisor, this role will lead a team of production associates, maintain production schedules, and uphold quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This Manufacturing Supervisor will also oversee The ideal candidate will have experience in ceramics manufacturing, strong team leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a night-shift setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of 5-1 production associates, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration during 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • Production Oversight: Monitor and coordinate nightly production activities, ensuring adherence to tight tolerances and production schedules.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce process compliance with controlled process requirements and customer specifications as outlined in Quality Management System (QMS) documents.
  • Process Support: Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce defects and cycle times.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by handling hazardous materials (e.g., ceramic powders and liquid resins), and conducting regular cleanliness and safety audits.
  • Training and Development: Support training initiatives for the production team, ensuring compliance with training requirements in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and HR.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records from training, labor, throughput, etc, using the appropriate tools, ranging from Microsoft Suite to ERP (Oracle) to workforce management (Kronos)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: : Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent experience and training.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role, preferably in ceramics or aerospace production.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide a diverse team during night shifts.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) or workforce management tools (e.g., Kronos).
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to address production issues and perform basic root cause analysis.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and report to senior leadership.
  • Ability to a hybrid shift (6:00 PM - 2:30 AM) to cover supervision for both 2nd and 3rd shifts, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day and work in a controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to ceramic powders and high-temperature equipment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in advanced ceramics production, such as ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) or monolithic ceramics.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100) or quality management systems.
  • OSHA certification or training in workplace safety.
  • Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, such as CMM or structured light inspection.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Location : On-site in Burlington, MA
  • Travel : Minimal travel (<5>
  • Schedule : Full-time, Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with flexibility for on-call support as needed.
