Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (Healthcare)
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in carrying out individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
Provide therapeutic activities to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
Monitor and document patients' progress and responses to interventions.
Instruct patients and families in the use of adaptive equipment and techniques for activities of daily living (ADLs).
Collaborate with the OT and interdisciplinary team to revise treatment goals as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
Educate patients and caregivers on safety, home programs, and follow-up care.
Adhere to professional standards, facility policies, and ethical guidelines.
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program from an accredited institution.
Current Missouri state licensure or certification as a COTA.
Valid CPR/BLS certification (as required by facility).
Previous experience in [hospital, SNF, outpatient, pediatrics, etc.] preferred but not required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
May include standing, walking, lifting, or transferring patients.
Exposure to various healthcare settings
May require travel between locations depending on job setting.
