Casual Terminal Driver/Lasher (Finance)

SUMMARY: Casuals will be lashing down cargo, working inspections, or tasked with various jobs on the terminal. Casuals may also operate yard jockey trucks to load and offload barges.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Required to perform duties in the freight warehouses, lashing onboard vessels, working in various other positions throughout the terminal, and performing other physical and manual labor tasks as directed by terminal management.

PAY: $20.60/hourly

HOURS: No set schedules or guaranteed hours - the job is ON-CALL. Casuals are NOT GUARANTEED a (40) forty-hour work week nor a full-time regular position with the company. Hours are assigned daily as needed based on vessel operations.C asual lasher/drivers are temporary employees used to cover situations such as replacements for absenteeism, vacation, and increased workload. This position is not permanent but does have the potential to become permanent.

  • CDL with hazmat endorsement is preferred but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and TWIC badge.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to work at all times!
  • Will be required to obtain a port security identification passed by the Port Authority. Any applicant unable to obtain a pass is not eligible for hire.

Company Expectations:
  • Casuals can be let go at anytime for any reason while in a casual status.
  • Please do not show up at any Crowley facilities unannounced.
  • All applicants must have a current referral on file.
