Employment Placement Specialist (Personal Services)

Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to providefor resident employment assistance, life skills programming, and maintaining vital resident community resources to ensure resident continuity of care and satisfactory re-entry transitional needs are met.
All activities must support the Firetree, Ltd. mission, strategic goals, and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.
Assists in completion of residents Individualized Program Plan;Secures job placement resources both in the RRC and in the community, to include the Department of Labors One-Stop System, consistent with current labor market trends;Provides employment information assistance using computer-based technology and resources which include career assistance software and on-line resources (e.g., Internet, Americas Career Info Net). The EPS will have direct access to the Internet to meet this requirement;Assists in portfolio development, resume writing, proper dress, and interview techniques training;Provides individual and group counseling, case management, and post-release follow-up relative to employment within the community, to include the area where the resident plans to live following release;Attends employment job fairs either on-site or in partnership with other organizations, such as community colleges; andMaximizes job retention and matches a resident's skill levels to an actual job placement. Performs other duties as assigned.
