Facilities Porter Service Specialist (Legal)

Job Description:

A Porter Service Specialist provides various administrative support services to our clients which may include office moves, conference room setups, and miscellaneous facilities-related tasks. The Porter is responsible for the upkeep of one of our client locations in order to enhance and maintain its cleanliness and order. The Porter will also assist the rest of the staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the property in an efficient manner.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Performs office related duties including office moves, replicating appearance in new location; set up of new offices with supplies, ensuring all equipment is functional, and office is presentable; departures, removal of all files delivering them to appropriate personnel, packaging of personal items, and ensuring office is presentable for next occupant

  • Sets up conference rooms, meeting special client requirements, including correct table set up, tables are clean, lighting / shading is functional, and room is presentable

  • Performs facilities related duties including picture hanging, small furniture set up, infrequent assembly of small furniture, replacing light bulbs and other special needs as required

  • Physically walks office on a frequent basis to ensure cleanliness and looking for issues that need addressing, i.e., blown lights, spots on floors and/or carpet, broken furniture, etc.

  • Daily dusting, sweeping, wiping down of pantry and café islands and countertops

  • Weekly mopping of stone floors, vacuuming and shampooing rugs as necessary using carpet cleaning machinery

  • Weekly refrigerator cleaning including discarding leftover food and wiping down shelves

  • Completes minor and routine service requests when requested by manager

  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with outside vendors and building management

  • Follows procedures when service requests are performed

  • Maintains constant and continuous lines of communication with the manager on all issues related to the operation of the department

  • Provides excellent client service when greeting all guests

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2+ years' work experience in the same or similar field

  • 1+ years' work experience in a customer services field

  • 1+ years' work experience in a law firm or corporate environment

  • Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater

  • Ability to grasp, lift or carry items on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 75 lbs

  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand or sit for an extended period

The Compensation range for this role is 21.57 to 25.88 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
