Senior Director Human Resources, Operations US & Canada (Project Management)
What you will do:
The Director HR, Operations for the US & Canada region will oversee all human resources functions for the 16 sites in the United States to ensure they are aligned with company goals and will serve as the strategic HR business partner for the VP Operations, US & Canada. This role must balance long and short-term initiatives and lead constructive and effective HR functional excellence and process improvements across the entire network. This position will require extensive travel throughout the United States.
How you will do it:
Business Understanding: Ability to explore and understand business processes, financial metrics, and organizational systems and structures. Accountable for building and driving the HR strategy for the US operations organization in partnership with the VP Operations.
Organizational Development: Demonstrated ability to use a systems perspective to diagnose an organization and facilitate process improvements.
Compensation and Benefits: Demonstrated ability to understand and apply total pay concepts to attract, motivate, and retain key employees in the organization.
Employee Effectiveness: Demonstrated ability to keep in touch with the workforce, anticipating employee reactions and the impact of business decisions.
Performance Management: Knowledge of the performance management process, including defining success, establishing measurements, providing feedback, and rewarding performance.
Workforce Planning: Demonstrated ability to identify the HR implications of the business plan and develop and implement solutions to meet identified needs.
Labor and Employee Relations: Ability and experience working with unions and understanding the CBA while ensuring a positive employee working environment. Familiarity with applicable federal and state employment and labor laws, and the ability to support team members' development in this space.
Staffing: Ability to assist the organization with the staffing process and build action plans with staffing partners to maintain an active pipeline of talent. Effectively close senior candidates.
Employee Communications: Skills in developing a strategy to implement a plan to ensure effective communication channels within the divisions.
HR Strategy and Implementation: Accountable for anticipating HR issues as a result of long-range business strategies and partnering with operations leaders and other HR team members to create proactive solutions. Initiates and manages the consistent implementation of various initiatives in support of the HR strategic plan, including recruitment and staffing, performance management, organization design, employee and labor relations, leadership development, and corporate responsibility.
What we look for:
Required
A Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree or MBA strongly preferred
15+ years of progressively responsible experience in roles of increasing responsibility within HR
Demonstrated experience managing performance, coaching, and assessing talent
Preferred
Experience overseeing multiple manufacturing facilities
Prior experience working in a Manufacturing union facility
