About the Role
Position: Construction Representative Federal Facilities
Location: Manhattan, KS
Employment Type: Full-Time
Are you ready to step into a high-impact position where your expertise supports the nations infrastructure, defense, and public service missions? As a Construction Representative with LB&B Associates, Inc., you will partner with architects, engineers, contractors, and federal agency clients. Your project management skills, attention to regulatory compliance, and leadership on-site will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
What Youll Do

Oversee day-to-day field operations for construction projects at federal facilities, ensuring strict compliance with contract requirements and government regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact between LB&B project teams, on-site contractors, federal agency representatives, and third-party stakeholders.
Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and submittals for accuracy and completeness; provide technical guidance and resolve conflicts or ambiguities.
Monitor and report construction progress, safety practices, quality assurance, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (including OSHA, EPA, and DoD standards).
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control reviews, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions as needed.
Track and manage project schedules and budgets, proactively identifying risks and collaborating on solutions to keep projects on track.
Maintain meticulous records of all work performed, including daily logs, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation.
Support contract administration, including review of pay applications, progress payments, and verification of deliverables.
Lead and participate in project meetings, safety briefings, and coordination sessions with stakeholders and subcontractors.
Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all project participants adhere to established safety plans, training, and protocols.
Assist with commissioning, closeout, and turnover activities, ensuring all requirements are met for federal acceptance and occupancy.
Mentor junior staff members, fostering an environment of knowledge-sharing, learning, and professional development.
What Were Looking For

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 3 years proven experience managing construction projects for federal agencies or government facilities (DoD, GSA, VA, or similar clients preferred).
Thorough understanding of federal acquisition regulations, contracting processes, and project documentation requirements.
Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards applicable to federal projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical reports and present information to diverse audiences.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with proven success managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6), document control systems, and basic office applications.
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications; experience supporting design-build and design-bid-build projects a plus.
Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills in dynamic team environments.
Ability to work in varied physical conditions on construction sites, including climbing, walking, standing, and exposure to weather, dust, and noise.
Willingness to travel to project sites as required and accommodate variable work hours (days, nights, weekends, holidays) to meet client needs.
Current safety certifications (OSHA 30-hour, CPR/First Aid) preferred; additional professional certifications (PMP, CCM, LEED AP) are highly valued.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching during each shift.
Manual dexterity for handling tools, measuring devices, and digital equipment.
Exposure to weather, noise, dust, and active construction environmentsfull PPE provided.
