Director of Assessment & Planning- Division of Student Affairs (Finance)



Department: VC/VP, Student Affairs Salary: 65,300-74,300
Description:

Provide leadership, direction, and expertise in the design, implementation, evaluation, and interpretation of assessment programs.

1. Directs and leads division-wide assessment, planning, and program evaluation related to ongoing improvement and innovation of programs, services and facilities.
2. Supervises one full time assessment Program Manager and advise the division's assessment committee.
3. Provides advice on issues of division-wide long-range planning, student learning, program evaluation, and stewardship of resources.
4. Participates in division-wide and unit-level strategic planning and conducts data analyses using a blend of quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques for short and long-term planning.
5. Manages the collection and analysis of division data source, such as group codes, student employee competencies, and strategic plan data.
6. Directs division-wide department and program review including the coordination of internal review and external review.
7. Manages the creation of student samples and timing of distribution of surveys for the Division of Student Affairs to the general UH student population.
8. Advises and consults department staff on how they can most effectively conduct assessments on department programs and services, manages annual assessment plan consultations in conjunction with co-chairs of the division's assessment committee.
9. Compiles and analyzes data using statistical methodologies and computer software; writes reports to address issues of importance to the division; creates and maintains data elements documentation.
10. Prepares reports related to assessment and planning activities including the contributions toward learning outcomes, student learning, retention, and graduation.
11. Collaborates with the Director of Marketing and Communications on the development of reports and presentations for the Vice President of Student Affairs, such as state of the division address, annual reports for the division, and annual strategic plan progress notes.
12. Uses established principles of measurement theory to develop valid and reliable instruments to assess learning outcomes, satisfaction, or evaluation of programs and services.
13. Assists in division-wide development plans, designs guidelines and other planning documents for the division.
14. Represents the office on university committees as required.
15. Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ:
Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
