Program Controls Manager (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Program Controls Manager to be based out of our San Francisco, California office. This position within our Environmental Remediation West group will act as a Program Controls Manager, providing leadership and oversight to a client specific Program Controls team including strategic and technical guidance and maintaining program controls for large environmental projects in collaboration with the client and account teams.

The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, have great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of managing a high-performance team.

Role accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Program Controls team including strategic and technical guidance including experience reporting to executive-level leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives (e.g., business process development) and tactical implementation (e.g., contract/invoice review and processing) to ensure compliance with program controls.
  • Develop and maintain program controls strategies, tools, systems and standard operating procedures aligned to best practice.
  • Establish cost control frameworks including budgets, forecasts, and contingency tracking; ensure proper documentation of change orders and budget adjustments.
  • Oversee the maintenance of project dashboards and reporting tools; provide executive-level briefings and performance summaries on a recurring basis.
  • Mentor junior staff, promote knowledge transfer, and foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Project Management, Construction Management or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in consulting
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple levels of an organization.

Preferred
  • Experience working for clients in the power and utility sector
  • PMP, PgMP, CCP, PSP, or equivalent certifications are preferred.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $100576 - $165951. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
