Electrical Engineering Intern (Finance)

Your Role:
Electrical Engineers are responsible for supporting the design and implementation of electrical systems, working with specialized software, and utilizing various other tools. As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you primarily focus on developing and learning fundamental concepts, practices and procedures within an overall project team and learning about your field of specialization. The successful candidate for this position will provide support for the electrical engineering group. This position is part of a team that specializes in electrical engineering and assists in the hydrocarbon, water, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and renewable energy markets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist an Electrical/Instrumentation engineer on various tasks and projects.
• Assist in the preparation of construction drawings, and specifications.
• Assist in organizing department standards.
• Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines
• Accompany engineers to visit vendor facilities and jobsites, as necessary.
• Demonstrate a focus on least cost, safe design.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner
• This is an on-site role that requires coming to the office.
• Develop and gain understanding of P&IDS and Process Flow Diagrams.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Entry to fourth-year student at an ABET accredited Institution enrolled in bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and industry standards.
• Eager to learn, detail oriented, and a great attitude

Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with using MathCAD, spreadsheets and Electrical Power Analysis software
• Ability to use computer and computer software programs, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD, 3D, CADWorx, Solidworks, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Administrative Skills:
• Execute the best design solution by applying industry knowledge while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
• Provide technical assistance for projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction.
• Ability to scope out small projects or tasks and determine required deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a team.
• Work cooperatively with engineers and designers.
• Timely and effective communication.
• Participate in community outreach.

This part-time position has the following benefits available: medical, sick leave and 401k.

Salary Range: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on level of experience, education & location.
