EXPERIENCE

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED
• Must have a vision exam with passing Jaeger J1 at not less than 12 inches (30.5 cm) in at least one eye, natural or corrected;
• Equipment used includes:
• Overhead & jib cranes, Electric forklift, Vacuum lift device;
• Metal tags, Marking devices, Ruler/tape measure;
• Digital scales;
• Bar breaker;
• Stamping equipment;
• Alloy identification machine;
• Hand grinder, Cutoff saw, Hammer, Leather gloves;
• Totes;
• Hoppers;
• TIG welder;

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking an Alloy Control Opr to join our Howmet Alloy located in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Afternoon position are Monday to Friday 2PM-10:30PM. Training on Day Shift M-F 6:00A - 2:30P

New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $24.79; After 12 Months: $27.35

Position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift

This position inspects and records all elements in the charges.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles;
• Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment;
• Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook);
• Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner;
• Attend all EH&S training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions
• Retrieve hopper as specified by customer heat number;
• Cut or shear bars for furnace charges to customer's required weight using cutting or billet shear equipment;
• Request and prepare element additions for charges when required;
• May be required to TIG weld to required charge weights;
• Maintain all inventory statistics as required;
• Communicate with internal and external customers;
• Properly place charges in totes for transportation;
• Prepare shipping labels;
• Deduct charge cut weights from total pounds in hopper;
• Deliver charges to Dover Casting (customer) when necessary;
• Grind chamfer charges;
• Maintain logbook with charge cuts;
• Prepare serialized metal tags for cut charges and stamp with heat code when required;
• Operate score and break.
• Operate CMI (Large Ingot) saw.

Other Skills/Abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written);
• Must learn TIG weld skills;
• Must be able to read and understand digital and analog scales;
• Must be accurate in recording and transferring multi-digit numbers;
• Must become adept in using alloy identification equipment.
