CORROSION SUPERVISOR (EAST BERNARD, TX) (Finance)



Position Description

Primary Purpose: Manage Corrosion Control program for the South Texas gas pipeline operating areas.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
* Supervise and provide effective leadership for corrosion technicians.
* Develop the corrosion related capital and expense budgets.
* Manage and report budget cash flows.
* Manage projects pertaining to corrosion control and pipeline integrity. This includes design, economic analysis, bidding, installation,
inspection and closing.
* Implement recommended technological advancements for field operations.
* Oversee the repair, modification and maintenance of appropriate equipment, systems and assets.
* Collaborate with other field personnel to solve administrative, organizational and technical problems.
* Assist in evaluating new technology and equipment in the corrosion control industry.
* Develop and coordinate regional corrosion control and pipeline integrity programs and projects.
* Ensure ongoing training and development of employees.
* Participate in regulatory and internal audits and inspections.
* Pipeline Integrity responsibilities include providing assistance in planning and running smart pig surveys, prove-up digs, close interval surveys,
direct assessments and writing all associated reports.
Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
Educational Requirements (minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would helpful)
* Two year technical degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience.

Certifications, licenses, registrations:
* Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.

Experience/specific knowledge:
* A minimum of 5 years experience in the natural gas industry.
* Leadership and supervisor skills.

Competencies, skills and abilities:
* Leadership and personnel management skills.
* Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document and complete work with minimum supervision.
* Experience effectively training and instructing employees. Must exhibit professionalism and respect toward others.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Safe work practice and active participation in the safety program.
* Good communication skills (verbal, written and listening).
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to prepare and make presentations.
* Math skills necessary to perform budgeting and engineering calculations.

* Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)
* Strong technical knowledge in the corrosion field.
* Experience with RStreng, CPDM, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
* Experience with DOT and NACE codes.
* Thorough knowledge of company policies and O&M procedures.
* Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to be eligible for hire.

Working Conditions:
* Lifting up to 50 lbs., driving for several hours could be possible, could be exposed to extreme weather conditions, extended periods of sitting,
may need to walk or stand for long periods of time.
* Subject to 24 hour call out.
* Need to be available if needed for nights, weekends, holidays.

Supervisory responsibility : Effectively supervise Corrosion Technicians who may be located at other work locations.
