Student Programs Coordinator, Temporary (Finance)



The University of South Florida Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is one of nine entities reporting to the Associate Vice President & Dean of Students within the Vice President of Student Success portfolio. CSI is dedicated to cultivating an environment in which students are engaged in transformational experiences that lead to lifelong learning, personal growth, and connection to the University. CSI contributes to student success through quality involvement opportunities, education, and advising which foster USF pride, global leaders and holistic student development.

CSI consists of the following areas: overall Student Involvement initiatives of programs within Special Events, Campus Traditions, Recurring Events, and Centre Gallery within the Campus Activities Board. In one semester, CSI can average over 40,000 attendees at over 100 events. The area is staffed by approximately 20 student leaders, Centre Gallery interns, and front desk staff assistant team as well as over 20 student volunteers. Additionally, there are 2 graduate assistants, 1 administrative specialist, 2 coordinators, 1 assistant director, and 1 director that rounds out the full, award-winning, team.

This position is responsible for advising the Campus Activities Board (CAB), a governing body of undergraduate student leaders, as well as supervising graduate student(s) in the development, organization, delivery, and assessment of programs designed to enhance and support student life and the university experience. The Coordinator also supports and models the vision and goals of the Center for Student Involvement including developing programming board leaders, campus traditions, increasing involvement and engagement on and off campus, collaborating with other campus organizations and departments, and providing inclusive programming which meets the diverse needs of the USF campus community leading to student academic and personal success. The Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of the Center for Student Involvement.Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree, with at least one year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration with 1-3 years of experience with advising students in program planning and implementation, preferred.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

    • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
  • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
  • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

  • Directly advise an area of the Campus Activities Board including meeting with various programming board student leadership on a weekly basis and serve as an advisor and supervisor to all aspects of programming and individual leadership development. Oversee the request and spending of a specific programming board budget, in consultation with the Assistant Director.
  • Directly supervise one or more graduate assistant(s) and provide guidance on day-to-day responsibilities, including, but not limited to, programming board advising,
    general event planning, and supervising program directors on contracting, budgeting, marketing, implementation and assessment of their events. Conduct performance
    evaluations to support professional and personal growth.
  • Lead and/or assist in one or more Center-wide programs special events, or strategic initiatives. Assist with the annual undergraduate and graduate student hiring processes in consultation with the Assistant Director.
  • Assist with the daily branding, marketing, and promotion efforts within CSI, including co-managing the CSI website and social media platforms. This includes assisting the Assistant Director with the development of a strategic marketing plan incorporating all efforts from grassroots to social media.
  • Support Student Success initiatives by serving on committees, attending events, facilitating presentations and showcases and other related outreach and awareness opportunities, working with other departments to achieve and promote the mission, values, and goals of Student Success and Student Affairs. Participate in the Center's event staffing rotation and serve as Essential Personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support and model the mission, vision, and goals of the Center for Student Involvement.
