VP, Fiduciary Compliance Officer (Project Management)

What you will be doing:

  • Involved in ensuring trust company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies related to trust administration, fiduciary duties, and investment management. 

  • Monitor to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state fiduciary, securities, investment regulations, OCC, ERISA and DOL reporting and filing requirements as applicable.

  • Respond to inquiries/requests for general compliance guidance regarding business line policies, procedures, and regulatory issues.

  • Assist with execution of compliance reviews to evaluate firm's compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and firm policies and procedures

  • Conduct compliance monitoring and testing reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of internal policies, procedures and processes, and contribute to reports on monitoring and testing findings provided to management

  • Periodically review and monitor compliance with Trust department policies and procedures, including but not limited to account administration, trust operations, conflicts of interest.

  • Identify and assess potential compliance risk and contribute to develop strategies to mitigate the risks.

  • Coordinate preparation of compliance and risk management related oversight committee meeting materials to ensure timely and accurate reporting to Trust committees and attend meetings as needed.  

  • Able to resolve complex issues

  • Assist with review and tracking client complaints to ensure adherence to enterprise-wide requirements.

  • Conduct periodic training with Trust personnel concerning regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with audits and regulatory examinations, including document gathering, responding to requests, when required.

  • Committee secretary skills a plus.

  • Perform other duties as needed from time to time.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Trust, Estate, Guardianship Administration: A solid understanding of fiduciary law and regulatory requirements and industry best practices is critical to the role.   

  • Analytical and communication skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders is crucial. 

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and policies: A solid understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies is essential. 

  • Experience in compliance, audit, or risk management: Prior experience in these fields is highly valued. 

  • Prioritize confidentiality and adheres to the highest ethical standards: the nature of the work requires confidentiality and adherence to the highest ethical standards.

  • Experience with BSA/AML compliance: knowledge of Know Your Client regulations is a plus.

  • Project management skills: The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines is important. 

  • Problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and address compliance issues is essential. 

  • Detail-oriented and organized: Accuracy and attention to detail are critical in this role. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team: The ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively with others is important.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting or related

  • Years experience 5 plus years' experience ideally with a bank trust department, registered broker-dealer, registered investment adviser.

  • Professional certification is highly preferred, such as Certified Fiduciary Investment Risk Specialist (CFIRS), Certified Bank Compliance Officer (CBCO), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or Certified Regulatory and Compliance - Professional (CRCP) would be an asset, but not required.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000-$110,000, along with eligibility to earn production bonuses. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
