Quality of Manager (Finance)



The Opportunity

The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall quality performance of the manufacturing facility, ensuring that all products meet customer, regulatory, and company standards. This role plays a critical leadership function in embedding a strong quality culture throughout the organization by fostering cross-functional collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Quality Manager leads and develops a team of hourly quality technicians across two shifts and ensures adherence to ISO certification standards and processes. The ideal incumbent is both a strategic leader and a hands-on problem solver, capable of driving sustainable quality improvements and maintaining rigorous compliance with industry and customer requirements.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role will:
  • Own and lead the plant's quality strategy, systems, and performance in alignment with company goals and customer expectations.
  • Oversee all aspects of the plant's ISO certification, including audit preparation, documentation, nonconformance resolution, and recertification processes.
  • Develop and sustain a culture of quality awareness and accountability at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the quality team across two shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and consistency of inspection processes.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Customer Service, and other departments to proactively identify and address quality issues, root causes, and process improvements.
  • Ensure that all incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished products meet applicable specifications and standards.
  • Maintain and continuously improve quality documentation, including inspection records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), corrective/preventive action reports (CAPAs), and training logs.
  • Lead customer complaint investigations, nonconformance reviews, and corrective action processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits and customer quality concerns.
  • Analyze quality data and trends, generate reports, and communicate key findings to stakeholders with recommended actions.
  • Promote employee engagement, training, and development within the quality function.

A successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance or quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably across multiple shifts or teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with ISO 9001 (or related standards) and audit compliance required.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality systems, statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive action processes (CAPA).
  • Familiarity with tools such as FMEA, control plans, PPAP, and Six Sigma principles (certification a plus).
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across all levels and functions.
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, and influence others in building a quality-first culture.
