Social Media Marketing Intern (Marketing)

If selected for the internship, you must be able to commit to the full 12 months and be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship.

What You'll Do:

The Social Media Marketing Intern assists with creating social media content, including graphics, videos, and copy, to enhance awareness of Royal Credit Union's products, services, brand, and mission. The Social Media Marketing Intern develops content for various marketing initiatives that aligns with our social media strategy and effectively engages audiences. Besides social media functions, the Social Media Marketing Intern also supports the overall Marketing team efforts across various campaigns and media channels. The Social Media Marketing Intern is a collaborative contributor who ensures marketing efforts are consistent, creative, and innovative.

Our Commitment To You:

  • Compensation: $17.41 - 19.49 per hour (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)

What's Needed For This Position:

  • Enrolled at a University or Technical College throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Communications, or similar field.
  • Must be bondable
  • Understanding of major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • Experience with marketing and graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable using digital tools and technologies, with a basic understanding of analytics and reporting

What We'd Love To See:

  • Experience working, volunteering, or participating on a team or club while balancing school work.

Intern Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Create high-quality, engaging social media content (written, video, animated, or graphic) in collaboration with the Marketing team and other departments.
  • Schedule and deploy content using social media management tools, maintain a content calendar, and ensure timely delivery across platforms.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting key performance indicators, including engagement and production metrics, and input data into spreadsheets.
  • Support paid social media campaigns through ideation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization, including A/B testing.
  • Research trends, platforms, and competitors to inform strategy and provide recommendations for future content and engagement.

Work Schedule:

  • Working approximately 15-20 hours/week during the school year and 35-40 hours/week during the summer. Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center as needed throughout the school year and during breaks.
  • This is a limited term, non-benefit eligible, position that will go from May 2026 - May 2027.
  • Must be able to commit to the 12 month internship.

Training:

  • Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
  • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
