“A Day in the Life”

As the Production Team Leadyou will lead a crew of employees in servicing and repairing modular buildings. Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign modular mechanics and general maintenance employees. Verify quality according to our standards. Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment on production goals and timelines. Promote a culture of teamwork and mutual support and recognizing collaborative efforts.

“What You'll Do”

  • Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew, assign modular mechanics tasks, learn/train as needed, and verify quality according to our standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance and construction on modular buildings to include, but not limited to, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and cleaning
  • Monitor the work of team members to meet productivity, quality and safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities and report to management
  • Ensure team maintains tools, supplies and work area consistent with the area's 5S checklist
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and safety training of crew members. Carry out current industry safety practices to include knowledge of OSHA requirements. Conduct daily and weekly safety audits and document results. Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, address challenges and share updates
  • Mentor and develop team by providing guidance, support and training to enhance their skills and career growth
  • Provide continuous training of crew members and new employees; coaches and counsels team members as needed with regards to responsibilities of their positions
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and reduce costs
  • Act as a backfill for other leaders when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

“Must Haves”

  • Prior experience of at least 4-6 years in the construction or related industry performing and leading general construction trades
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures and Company specific work orders, work instructions and floor plans provided
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Basic knowledge of database management systems. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technologies
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to effectively guide and motivate a team
  • Deliver a high-quality output consistent with the Company's construction standards
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and vendors
  • Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to take initiative and being a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated flexibility in handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company's safety policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative team environment
  • Able to take, record and follow standard measurements and cut or separate materials to specific measurements or quantities. Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines
  • Able to read Company's construction documents (provided in English) and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work
  • Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
  • Valid Driver's License

"Nice to Haves"

  • Prior experience overseeing the work of a team of at least 6 employees desired
  • Prior experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC or other specialties preferred
  • Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blueprints a plus
  • Knowledge of current building codes to include 2016 CBC and 2018 IBC and ADA a plus
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of LEAN a plus

Special Considerations:

  • Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
    • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities
