Advanced Physicist (Finance)



Honeywell's ACST team is looking for an Advanced Physicist for their Broomfield, CO location. The position is a research position responsible for the success of Honeywell products. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and specifications, develop and execute test plans and procedures, and analyze test results to provide recommendations for product improvements.

The annual base salary for this position is $126,000.00 - $157,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • Proven track record of working with systems investigating physical phenomena, particularly as applied to cryogenic systems.
  • Ability to operate a commercial dilution refrigerator and train junior scientists to run these systems.
  • Experience with low temperature cryogenic design, analysis, and experimental systems
  • Understanding of experimental design to gather the desired data.
  • Experience integrating custom control software into COTS systems
  • Ability to design and deploy automation procedures using PLCs
  • S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
  • Experience with following and applying good experimental design principles

WE VALUE
  • Master's degree in physics or engineering with 3-4 years of experience, or PhD with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, analyze, operate, build, and test complex systems, particularly for cryogenic environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with modeling, simulation tools, analytical techniques, and related fields (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, COMSOL, SolidWorks)
  • Experience applying statistical methods to ensure robust experimental design and data interpretation
  • Current security clearance for work on government contracts

  • Implementing sample environments in support of laboratory experimentation
  • Designing and developing new cryogenic systems
  • Performing low temperature laboratory experiments
  • Supporting the design and development of integrated solutions with cryogenics being a key component
  • Collaborate with physicists, engineers, and technicians in a cross functional team environment
  • Assist with design, documentation, and implementation of automated control software in a laboratory setting
