Software Engineer (TS/SCI) {S} (Finance)

We are seeking talented junior and mid-level software engineers to join our team that supports U.S. defense and intelligence community partners. We are developing the next generation of signal and image processing software, building on our 75 year history on the cutting edge in the radar and electro-optical fields. These teams have received numerous patents and developed revolutionary and exquisite technologies throughout our history that is continuing with our current work.

Position Overview:

We are seeking developers familiar with C , Python, Rust, or Java to support our critical programs working with the U.S. Government to satisfy development needs. In these positions, you will be at the forefront of developing the systems that keep our nation safe and work in space emerging technology. This position will work on executing work for image product quality.

The team is primarily based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Qualified candidates can work in that location or out of our Herndon, VA facility where we have other team members already working. This work requires candidates to be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance and the ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Responsibilities:
  • Take algorithm definitions and prototypes and convert them into robust software applications that run efficiently on large images and are ready for operational environments. Collaborate with radar/electro-optical and research scientist experts to solve issues and iterate to improve image product quality
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software applications using modern programming languages and technologies. Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that adheres to best practices and coding standards
  • Build and improve on automated test and verification software and tools
  • Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Poly
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, signals processing, electrical engineering, or related technology fields. ( 5 years of professional experience in lieu of degree)
  • Programming skills in C , Python, Java, or Rust
  • Experience developing in a Linux environment
  • Version control experience in Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment to advance large software development packages by taking on and completing tasks independently
  • Must be willing to work on-site

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Multiple programming languages
  • Academic or professional experience in radar or electro-optical fields
  • Work in formal software development methodologies (Agile)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Experience writing software implementing algorithms
  • Desire to learn new technologies

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to use hands to keyboard, communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions and remain stationary for extended periods of the time.
